Elliptical Exercise Machine:

Elliptical trainers (also known as cross trainers) were designed to provide a low impact cardiovascular workout. They are easier on the joints than treadmills.  If your knees have started to bother you as you have gotten older you may want to try an elliptical. Elliptical trainers give can give you a total body workout if you have dual action handlebars for your arms and foot pedals for your legs.

Hippocampus:

The hippocampus is located within the temporal lobe of the brain. The left hippocampus is best at verbal memory and the right hippocampus is best at visual memory.   The hippocampus is critical for learning new information and holding onto it over time – a skill that declines as we age.  The hippocampus is where the plaques and tangles of Alzheimer’s disease are first seen.

Menopause:

When a woman has not had a period for 12 months; ovaries have stopped making the female hormones estrogen and progesterone.

Perimenpausal:

The transition before menopause; usually takes place sometime between the 40s and 60s.
